Who are the artists whose voices completely blow you away? Like they could sing a song you cannot stand and turn it into the greatest thing you've ever heard, because their voice is just that stunning... haha. Also, if anyone wants you should post an example vid of the artists and their best vocal performance in your opinion. And discuss!

#1. Darren Hayes (Formerly w/ Savage Garden) - The man has so much control and range. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygTYHlLjTZs

Brad Mates (Emerson Drive) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwvbvlz4gWo

Alex Band (Formerly w/ The Calling) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ir2BhG1IW2A

Darren Hayes (Okay, I hate the song Last Christmas with an absolute passion. Always have and always will. But Darren's amazing flawless vocals made it a SOMEWHAT tolerable song for me. haha. That's giving Darren a huge compliment, trust me. You have no clue how much I actually hate the song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkLAsPslUVM )

Brad Mates of Emerson Drive ( Love this song and this acoustic performance of it. Great lyrics, powerful melody...and Brad's delivery is perfect. He's an amazing vocalist and they're overwhelmingly talented live. Words can't describe how excellent an Emerson Drive concert is. Seriously. They're an amazing band live. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1qNiMPnbqg )

Jimi Westbrook of LBT (his intro to Boondocks...out of this WORLD! This guy could sing anything and I'd be 100% blown away each and every time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLU3QSMEkPM )

Karen Fairchild of LBT (everyone knows I adore LBT, and this is one of my favorites. Karen ROCKS this song. I seriously can't get enough of her voice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7lkox0kS2E )

Chris Young (He NAILED this Keith Whitley song. I love the song anyway, and Chris just took it to another whole level. Such a tremendous vocalist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_qN1-Unnk0 )

Another one from Jimi and Karen...Your Side of the Bed is a song on their Tornado album, and in my opinion it needs to be the next single. Great lyrics, flawless vocals, and immaculate harmony. It's prfection. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOgxt8tBRew

Probably more to come. This was off the top of my head.

Carrie Underwood - tone, control, power, support, vibrato. The complete package. Her best is I Know You Won't

Jen Nettles - SOMETIMES. She has a phenomenal voice, but sometimes goes too twangy

Randy Owen - love me some Old Alabama, just like Brad

Karen and Kimberly - I love both equally. LBT is amazing.

Stevie Nicks - so sultry. The best!

Jim Morrison - such a haunting voice. I could listen to his smooth delivery all day long!

I'm commenting on these... I like having discussions.

I LOVE that you chose to put Darren's "Last Christmas" haha I KNOW you hate that song with a burning passion! That boy can do ANY cover and I think I'd be able to tolerate it. His vocals and style are THAT good... Like when I played you his version of Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes"... totally different song when D does it. You are giving Darren major cred, I completely understand that haha. I know how much you despise that song! Plus this is the LIVE version.... I have the recorded version... this one is better... I love how people think this is him lip syncing and I'm just like, you don't know Darren Hayes my friend.

Brad's voice has matured something fierce and I'm not sure how I feel about that yet. One thing that I love about ^ the above (ahem Darren) is that his voice hasn't gotten gruffer and lower, his vocals have gotten stronger. Brad's are amazing and always will be, but you can tell he hasn't taken care of his voice to the fullest extent the way D has.

The SECOND I heard Chris on Nashville Star I KNEW he was extremely special. Seriously it was instant. I have NEVER felt the way I did about him with any other musical show artist (well David Archuleta, but I didn't see him on AI, I saw him AFTER the fact). When he sang "Drinkin' Me Lonely" he sold me as a fan.

Carrie and Jennifer are actually my least favorite female vocalists of all time... I always find it interesting how tastes differ and the way people perceive voices. I don't see ANY appeal in these ladies at all, but then some people think their voices are incredible. Then some of the vocalists I ADORE, others think are terrible talentless freaks and I'm like "WHAT!? Are you even listening to the same artist as I'm hearing!?" haha.

Stevie Nicks is one of those artists that you either love or hate I think... Her voice is SO different and such an acquired taste. It's not a voice you can really be in the middle about. Me? I LOVE HER. NO ONE sounds like Stevie, no one. You know her voice instantly, it's incredibly recognizable and those kinds of artists get my attention.

Justin: Now that I have completely turned you into a Delta freak you should listen to the link I posted on this topic.... It's a live version of "In This Life" that I adore. I am pleased.
